One of the pleasures of travelling is shopping. There are many speciality products in various parts of Japan, but Tokyo has many famous shopping spots where good things from all over the country come together. Among them, I will introduce Shibuya, Omotesando, Harajuku, and Aoyama.

1. Shibuya: The Birthplace of Youth Culture

The area on the east side of Shibuya Station, including Shibuya Station, is called Shibuya. Residential areas and offices are throughout the north-western area. But it is famous as a downtown area in Tokyo. Shibuya is also known as a youth town, and there are many department stores, fashion buildings, and speciality stores with restaurants. The busy intersection in Shibuya boasts a high profile and is a spot visited by many tourists. As a source of fashion culture for young people, there are many fast fashion stores centred around the central street, and you can quickly get fantastic fashionable items in your 20s and 30s.

One feature is that you can purchase tickets for live houses, theatres, movie theatres, and visit stores with brand new sweets. There are also department stores which sell high-quality products, famous brands that celebrities love, and sweets that are popular as souvenirs for your travels.

2. Omotesando: Unique Brands

In the Omotesando area, which points from the street of Omotesando to the area around Omotesando Station, there are many brand stores. It is famous as a shopping street with select shops and well-known beauty salons. In the alley, there are many large and small general stores, apparel shops, cafes, and it is famous for its unique brands. Commonly, the area is crowded with many people regardless of the day of the week. There is a wide variety of trendy brands, ranging from street fashion to neat styles, with a relatively stylish and mature atmosphere. The cafe area has a calm atmosphere where you can take a break.

3. Harajuku: The Cutting Edge of Trends

The area from Harajuku Station to the vicinity of Omotesando is called Harajuku. Since it is close to Shibuya, Omotesando, and Aoyama, many stores sell fashion brands. Like Omotesando, it is also an area where many young people gather, as it is also a source of Japanese subculture. There are many unique brands and second-hand clothing stores, and along with Shibuya, it has established itself as a cultural centre. Many stores are popular with junior and senior high school students, and you will be able to experience the cutting edge of trends.

4. Aoyama: A Calm Adult Town

The Aoyama area, which is close to Harajuku and Omotesando, is where Miyuki Dori, Kotto Dori, and Killer Dori are located from the intersection of Omotesando. The atmosphere is completely different from Omotesando, Harajuku, Shibuya, etc. High-brand shops used by adults with elegant tastes are here. In addition to Japan's leading brands, world-famous brands are also here, making it a convenient area for those who want to incorporate fashion from high-end fashion brands. It is often used as a shooting location for TV and drama series, and it is a drama-like cityscape. Restaurants and bars also exist as hideaways, so if you want to enjoy the calm atmosphere, Aoyama is an amazing place for you.
